June 29 - July 3, 2009

July 3, 2009 - Oops!

Loading PO’s was acting bizarre.
Sys performance was not up to par.
But the system’s now thriving
From order archiving
And typing in
del *.*

July 2, 2009 - Because really, who wants to remind IT people about how much the big boys get?

When submitting the COO’s pension,
There’s an issue that got our attention.
It takes 1.8 mil
For his check to fulfill.
That’s a sum beyond our comprehension.

But there something that’s far greater yet.
And it’s something you’ve heard of, I bet.
As the news reports told
It’s some two hundred fold.
It’s how far Michael Jackson’s in debt.

July 1, 2009 - Aha!

When we’re building the phonebook on-line,
There were nights when the jobs would run fine.
But at times, we were stumped.
For the time tenth and umpth
Folks were missing, and people would whine.

So in searching, the problem to catch,
We found timing that sometimes won’t match.
For the two jobs would start
Fifteen minutes apart.
Sometimes life in IT’s sure a batch.

June 30, 2009 - Not the response he had in mind

The mid-manager said there’s an issue,
So our work we would have to reissue.
But he won’t tell us where
He was finding the err,
So they told him, “The problem? It issue.”

June 29, 2009 - 120 the hard way

Our old printer encountered a bug.
The repairmen explained with a shrug.
“The wall voltage is wrong.”
That I knew all along.
Did he fix it by using two plugs?

Bonus rhyme pulled from recent headlines:

Adam Savage, the famous MythBuster,
Is an AT&T bill mistruster.
So he tweets all day long,
“No, eleven K’s wrong!
Calculations have gone amiss, Buster!”

So his 50K friends, as he trusted
Read about this and all got disgusted.
He was given a break.
“It’s all one big mistake.”
So now AT&T is called “BUSTED.”
