Since I’m moving on up in the joint,
A new honcho they had to appoint.
Though he seemed kind of bright
It evaded their sight
How his hair seemed to grow to a point.
Scott Adams is GOD!!! 'Nuff said!
Our deep hatred of malware’s unmatched.
Each infection we’re striving to catch.
But a call came this morning
About a dire warning.
At least it’s no Microsoft patch.
Some may have interpreted this one as a slam against Microsoft. As a geek with three computers at home - two running Vista and a laptop running XP, and a career as a developer using Microsoft Visual Foxpro, it's far from the actual truth. Sometimes, comedy relies on a running joke, or getting a laugh from a previous reference. This was really in reference to yesterday's story, where the user thought the Microsoft patch update was a virus.
In the course of our OS updating,
From a user I got a berating.
What I’m looking for most?
It’s the Personnel post
Of her job on the board I’m awaiting.
Though our group in technical wing know
How to decode the technical lingo.
Others see what they wrote
In the technical note
As a game card to play “IT Bingo.”
I imagined that if there could be a thing called "Buzzword Bingo, why not "IT Bingo?" I remember playing a Buzzword game back about ten years ago and it really did make me pay attention a bit more than usual.
Every weekend the fish was unable
To get access to work via cable.
She would get it and then
It would vanish again,
So she thought that the cable’s unstable.
Still the policy guy we should thank,
Even though his flawed logic sure stank.
Without people like him,
We’re unable to swim
With the folks that we find in the Tank!
CW - Congratulations and thanks for 10 years of IT
Believe it or not - the ComputerWorld spam filter caught this one!!! Was it "stank"? "Insanity"? "CW"? Who knows... You try to be nice to a magazine blog...
